Holidays Fleetwood

Sarah always remembered her holidays in Fleetwood and the surrounding area in Lancashire. She can picture the smell of the salt from the fresh sea air and the sound of the crying seagulls circling on the horizon. She can still feel the warmth of the fish and chips wrapped in a cone of newspaper on her palms. Sarah’s favourites thing was to stand just at the shoreline and play with the water as it came swooshing in and out Creating bubbles and foam. Sarah could pass away hours of time at the waters edge occasionally running in waist deep taking a quick dip under and then back out again. Sometimes she would sit on the sand and cover her legs just for fun before running back in and washing all the sand off again.

Every afternoon around about four pm it was customary on Sarah’s holidays in Fleetwood for her nan and grandad to take a stroll along the promenade and purchase an ice cream from their favourite ice cream parlour. This was one of Sarah’s favourite memories from her holidays in Fleetwood. She can still remember peering into in the freezer and being unable to choose from the huge variety of flavours and being perplexed by how many colours they were to choose from. It was easy for her to know what her nan would choose as she always picked rum and raisin. Her grandpa on the other hand had a sweet tooth and inevitably would go for toffee flavour. More often than not Sarah would resort to her old favourite, mint choc chip. The three happy holidaymakers would then stroll together ice creams in hand, and chit chat about the goings on of the day and the plans for the coming evening. The best thing about holidays are all the difficult decisions that have to be made like which restaurant shall we go to this evening or which beach shall we visit tomorrow? Sarah has so many wonderful memories from her holidays in Fleetwood.
